It’s not coming – it’s here. Yes, layoffs are real. Jobs are changing and disappearing. AI is at the core of this shift. Likely, a shift that has a scope we’ve never witnessed before (not counting the rise of early agriculture 10k years ago).
But the fear is false.
Here’s why.
AI Replaces Execution, Not Expertise.
You see, at best, AI can average, compile, and make the small next step in public knowledge. Yes, AI is literally shaping our minds as well as its own – a crazy feat in evolution.
But…
AI doesn’t – and cannot – replace expertise. Something that’s a uniquely human experience.
True expertise isn’t born in a training data model; it’s forged in the real world. It’s the nuance of knowing why a strategy works, not just how to copy it. AI can give you a flawlessly structured map based on everywhere people have already walked, but it can’t navigate the unexpected storm or look at a blank canvas and decide where we need to go next.
The execution is automated, but the vision—the gut instinct that actually moves things forward—remains entirely ours.
True expertise isn’t born in a training data model; it’s forged in the real world.
