Good Enough Continuum

The trap of perfectionism is on the same continuum as the trap of laziness.

Basic dictionary definitions from Google state:

“Perfectionism: refusal to accept any standard short of perfection.

Laziness: the quality of being unwilling to work or use energy; idleness.”

All tasks fall along this continuum. Let’s call it the Good Enough Continuum.

It’s the mission and vision that guide us in knowing which tasks should fall where. It’s not that laziness and perfectionism are both absolutely bad. And good judgment alone is not enough to figure it out.

Judgment + Mission = Task Energy

It’s a purpose that determines the devotion we should give to each task. With purpose, we can determine when the job is good enough.

The great thing about good enough is it’s always good enough…at least when the job matches the intended purpose.
