Some say true innovation requires thinking outside the box, and that may be true. Let’s just say that’s a good definition of innovation. But what is innovative leadership?
Innovative leadership is slightly different than mere innovation. Innovative school leadership is the ability to innovate inside your box. It might require thinking outside the box, but the acting is done inside the box. What then, is your box? Well, it’s your property – the space in which you can build. Knowing the capacity of your property is the starting place for innovative leadership.
So, what’s your box? What’s the capacity of your property? What innovation can be successfully created within those confines?
